CKB 2/5/12 Saint Blaise and Jesus Performing Miracles

Thanks for helping spreading the word about CKB!

I bought a tablet to try drawing digitally-and so far I'm not in love (so the pics are still pen and paper...)  If anyone has any experience with drawing tablets or software for digital drawing--let me know!

This week we have coloring pages of Saint Blaise and Jesus performing miracles.  Enjoy!

B.1.2012.2.5 5th Ordinary

Coloring page for Saint Blaise, Patron Saint of Throat Diseases, and Jesus performing a miracle, healing Simon-Peter's mother-in-law.

CKB 1/29/12

I made a few changes to the format so it's now a folded little booklet.  The front page has traceable words that are a quote from the Gospel passage.  The top of the page also has the color of the day so kids can be excited to see that they are wearing green, green, green!  The inside is a full page spread on the Gospel, and the back page has a super saint.  I'm thinking of creating cutsey names for each section..."Moments in the Mass," "Super Saints," etc...thoughts?

Here are a few tidbits of info about Saint Thomas Aquinas to share with your kids.

The dove in the picture is speaking into his ear and helping him write. His most famous piece of work is the Summa Theologica...I just wrote Summa on the page because I didn't want to look up how to spell Theologica...laziness perhaps, but the computer was on the other room at the time. It turns out I could have just guessed and gotten it correct, but I would hate to have to erase or start over.  But, I digress...

Saint Thomas is also pictured with a sun over his heart because... it was like that in a lot of other pictures.  I have no idea why it really is pictured that way and my mom hasn't returned my text with the answer (she is the best Saint source...usually much faster than the internet.  I'll post again with a real answer when I have one....do any of you know?

Bulletin for 1/22/12

sThanks for all your help getting the bulletins out there last week.  There were more than double the amount of views!  Yay!

Help me out again and like/pin/link to/etc. this post.  Thanks for all your support!

I'm adding a few cute characters to the bulletins...a silly looking dove, a smarty-pants church mouse, and a bookish bookworm.  Soon they'll have names and a coloring page of their own...as soon as I decide on names.  Any ideas?

Catholic Kids Bulletin

Thanks to Lacy, I realized that
I should include a picture so you
can pin this...so, pin away!

#1: My bulletins are on PINTEREST!  I'm so excited!  Thanks to whoever pinned me!!!!!!!!!!! My husband made fun of me A LOT when I told him the exciting news.
#2: On a less positive note, download numbers are WAY down, so I'm assuming most of the planet got incredibly busy at Christmas and hasn't been visiting.  So if you would all help me get the numbers back up by liking on facebook, telling your friends, and pinning me on pinterest, I would LOVE it.

#3: I'm asking for more help from all of you.  If you would comment below with answers to any/all of these questions, that would be great.  I'm getting organized this week so any advice/complaints/comments that you all have would be great.

1.  What is your favorite part of the bulletin?
2. Do you feel that there should be more/less doctrine and teaching?
3. Are there enough activities in each bulletin?
4. Any thoughts/advice for fonts or layout if I revamp the look?j
5. Anything else you'd like to share.

Finally-here's the bulletin for this week....It's even early for any of you that want to be prepared ahead of time.

Have a great week!
